Welcome to the Sequim Bay Yacht Club website.  Since 1976, SBYC members have been enjoying the beautiful waters of Sequim Bay, whether it be by cruising, sailing, rowing, paddling, or just taking in the view from our clubroom at John Wayne Marina.  We have a calendar full of events both on and off the water, beginning with “Frostbite Series” sailboat racing in January to our end of year “Change of Watch” ceremony and Winter Solstice celebration.

If you love the water, but don’t own a boat, we offer Learn-to-Sail lessons that will qualify members to use the two Flying Scot sailing dinghies owned by the club, and Learn-to-Row sessions for members wishing to take advantage of SBYC’s rowing program.  Sequim Bay is a great place to experience the joy and physical benefits of rowing.  One of our rowing shells is named for the famed Olympic rower from Sequim portrayed in “The Boys in the Boat”, Joe Rantz.

Our club also hosts many social events throughout the year, with monthly Happy Hours, special dinner events, an annual picnic, and formal occasions like our annual Commodore’s Ball.  No boat?  No problem! There are many activities for non-boaters to enjoy.

SBYC is an all-volunteer organization and we encourage our members to participate in club events and operations.  We also support another community organization, Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, and since 1981 SBYC has raised over $500,000 for its Respite Care Fund.  In September, we host our “Reach and Row for Hospice” event, raising money with our sailing regatta, paddle/row races, quilt raffle and dessert auction.  VHOCC is an amazing organization and we are proud to support its staff, volunteers, and clients.
